Jakarta – BINUS UNIVERSITY had the honor to be the first location of SCTV Goes to Campus. This time, their theme is Liputan6 in New Media. Hundreds of students from a number of universities in Jakarta participated in the event, with discussion and training for television scheduled.

Students who swarmed in the Auditorium of Anggrek Campus came from BINUS UNIVERSITY and other universities such as Jakarta State University (UNJ), STIMIK Bekasi, London School of Public Relations, Tarumanagara, Al-Azhar Jakarta, Bina Sarana Informatika and KALBIS Institute. Students from Pakistan, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Finland also took part in the event.

On SGTC, SCTV shared useful tips for students who are interested in broadcasting and television world. As explained by the Program and Production Director of SCTV Harsiwi Achmad, participants acquired a lot of information about the development of media and information in Indonesia and the world.

During the training, these students also got the chance to follow presenters audition for Liputan 6 program. “In this year’s SGTC we explain the process for news production in Liputan 6. In addition, there’s also a presenter audition for Liputan 6. We want to recruit high-achieving students and we want them to join us in SCTV,” Harsiwi said.

On a similar tone, Harsiwi, Faculty of Economics & Communication BINUS UNIVERSITY Dr. Engkos Achmad Kuncoro, SE, MM said that the campus and industry is strongly related because the problems in the future are very complex.

“The industry plays a very significant role from the side of implementation or practices. That’s why, there are several potentials we can work on, together,” Engkos explained in front of the audience.

SGTC is a part of Karnaval SCTV 2012. Aside from BINUS UNIVERSITY, SCTV Goes to Campus 2012 will also visit other large cities in Indonesia such as Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Semarang and Medan. (YD)
