Thousands of people in their sport costumes flocked on BINUS Senayan Campus, The Joseph Wibowo Center, Sunday (8/7). Their spirit raged as they participated on BINUS Duathlon 2012, organized to commemorate the 31st anniversary of BINA NUSANTARA.

This is the second sport event coordinated by BINA NUSANTARA. Last year BINUS had Fun Bike “Cycling The Nations”, while this year the educational institution, which campuses spread on five areas, organized BINUS Duathlon “Spirit of Competitiveness”.

“We are showing our gratitude for our achievements these past 31 years, because BINUS has succeeded in creating the BINUSIAN community, with 150,000 members all over the world,” explained the CEO of BINA NUSANTARA Group, Bernard Gunawan, on the opening of BINUS Duathlon.
BINUS Duathlon is a combination of running and biking with the purpose of whipping up new spirit, endurance, competition, and solidarity among people who love to run and bike. The event also aimed to improve the agility of participants by increasing their personal positive values.

Contestants could choose to participate in five-kilometer run, fifteen-kilometer biking, or the combination of running and biking. “BINUS wants to urge BINUSIAN and the public to live up to challenges and to create a competitive community, who are ready to compete in globalization era,” explained the Head Committee of BINUS Duathlon, Haris Suhendra.

The gifts provided were valued to almost Rp 70 million, including Polygon bicycle, Rudy Project sunglasses, Garuda Indonesia plane ticket, Adidas sport kit and a number of packages from sponsors such as Nutrilite by Amway, Panadol, 100plus, Sari Roti, Fitbar by Kalbe Nutritionals and many others.
