Observer of Defense & Security Issues

Andi Widjajanto is an Observer of defense and security issues, previously serving as the Cabinet Secretary in Joko Widodo’s administration from November 2014 to August 2015.

Previously, he acted as Deputy of the Transition Team before the formation of the Working Cabinet. He received his master of science from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), United Kingdom, and Industrial College of Armed Forces (ICAF), National Defense University, the United States in 2003.

He also studied in the Ph.D. program of S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS). He has teaching experiences in the international Relations Department, Universitas Indonesia, the Indonesia Defense Security, as well as TNI Command and Staff College (Sesko TNI).

He also has experienced working as an expert in various think tanks on defense and security studies, such as Center for International Relations Studies (CIRES), GLOBAL Jurnal Politik Internasional, PACIVIS Universitas Indonesia, and Institute for Defense and Security Studies at Universitas Indonesia.

His researches led to many types of research, books, journal articles, and other publications on defense and security studies.
