Hybrid Exhibition via Kunsmatrix and at Binus @Bandung 6-10 December 2021

On December 6 until December 10 School of Design of Bina Nusantara University held the first hybrid exhibition in pandemic situation. The fact of restriction in university from all activities that not categorized as learning activities are perceived by students and lecturers in Bina Nusantara University too. Fortunately, School of Design of Bina Nusantara University had a chance to prove that even in this restriction condition we still able to show our students work to the world. This year School of Design of Bina Nusantara University carry GRIT as the main theme for Fresh n Brite from Jakarta, Bandung, Malang.

Fresh ‘n Brite or better known as FnB, is an annual routine activity held by the School of Design, Binus University. This activity has also been recognized as one of the most influential events for design education in Indonesia, since this event was started in 2004.This event was initiated as an exhibition of the best Final Projects by School of Design students, which is a “bridge” between students industry players with the best graduate students from the School of Design. Fresh ‘n Brite can be said as a transition phase from the scope of education to the world of professional work. This activity is open to the public and attended by many people from various walks of life, such as academic colleagues, practitioners from industry, as well as representatives from other institutions. Some of the things to be achieved in this activity include:

  • Become a “bridge” between creative industry players and the best graduate students of the School of Design, so that they can interact with each other, exchange information or discuss plans for cooperation.
  • Helping creative industry players to get the best creative resources available at the School of Design, Binus University.
  • As a forum for discussion between academics and practitioners to develop the potential of a better creative world in Indonesia.
  • Become a source of inspiration in the field of design and creativity, by displaying inspiring works with bright and innovative ideas.
  • Cultivate and build people’s appreciation of the design and creative fields, by directing them to enjoy firsthand educational and creative experiences.

This year, we are honored that Mr. Adi Panuntun from Sembilan Matahari Studio deign to be our speaker in this event. He shared about design thinking importance in design project and encourage lecturers, students, as well as artists in Indonesia to struggle with this condition and keep working to produce great artworks. He became our first speaker on the 6th of December 2021 via Zoom Meetings and inspired all of participants to have courage in creating some design.

On 10th of December, we were excited to had Mr. Dendy Darman to be our second speaker. He shared about his story in 25 years creating design in the architecture interior field as well as in the product design field. He also encourages all participants to never give up and keep working in creating artwork as well as design even in this restricted condition.
