BINUS University upholds a dedicated policy aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly emphasizing education. This policy encompasses all ongoing activities, ensuring continuous support for SDGs, with a special focus on accessibility to education. The commitment to inclusive learning is explicitly outlined in Rector’s Decree Number 136A Part II, specifically in points E, F, and G. This decree solidifies BINUS University’s dedication to providing lifelong learning opportunities that are accessible to all, without any form of discrimination.

BINUS University is actively engaged in education outreach activities that extend beyond its campus, involving university faculty, staff, and students. These initiatives aim to benefit the wider public who may not attend the university directly.

  1. Ad-hoc Events: In 2022, BINUS University organized an education event named “Basic Training about Microsoft Office” for the local community, specifically in collaboration with the Teman Baik Foundation. These ad-hoc events serve as opportunities to provide valuable skills and knowledge to the broader community.
  2. On-Programmed Educational Outreach Activities: As part of structured outreach efforts, BINUS involves its students in voluntary programs. One notable example is the creation of “Bimbingan Belajar” (BIMBEL), where BINUS students actively participate in a voluntary program to provide educational guidance and tutoring to primary and secondary students. This programmed initiative reflects the university’s commitment to extending educational support and resources beyond its campus boundaries.

BINUS University is dedicated to providing diverse opportunities for lifelong learning through executive education and vocational training programs that are accessible to the general public. These include:

  1. Technical and Scientific Courses: Offering specific courses in fields such as Computing, Engineering, and Business, catering to individuals seeking vocational training in these technical and scientific areas.
  2. Language and Culture for Business: Tailored for those looking to enhance language skills, especially in a business context, this program provides practical knowledge for effective communication in professional settings.
  3. Apple Developer Academy @BINUS: A 10-month program targeting students aged 18 and above from various backgrounds across Indonesia, aiming to cultivate skilled developers and contribute to the advancement of the technology sector.
  4. NUNIxYoutap UMKM Academy: Collaborating with Youtap MSME Academy, BINUS University, and Atma Jaya Catholic University, as NUNI members, organize webinars to provide vocational training for the local community, specifically focusing on micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM).

In addition to these ongoing programs, BINUS University also conducts specialized training initiatives. For instance, in 2022, the Hotel Management Faculty organized training for Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, focusing on organization and hotel management to contribute to the development of relevant skills in the hospitality industry.

BINUS University, under its initiative titled “Fostering and Empowering,” continues to make significant contributions to society through public lectures. These lectures are open to partners, stakeholders, and communities, featuring speakers from both international and local university partners.

In addition to regular lectures, BINUS University conducts ad-hoc training sessions on various topics, including stunting and malnutrition, for the local community and other groups. These sessions aim to address pressing issues and provide valuable knowledge to diverse audiences.

Furthermore, on a programmed basis, BINUS University collaborates with NUNI (National University Network in Indonesia) members to organize an annual international seminar. This collaborative effort creates a platform for lifelong learning, fostering intellectual exchange and contributing to the continuous education of individuals both within and beyond the university community.

BINUS University is dedicated to promoting lifelong learning by providing accessible resources and facilities for non-students. These include:

  1. Taman Belajar: A platform at the school level that is open to the public, offering free access to educational materials and facilities.
  2. MOOC (Massive Open Online Course): Educational resources at the professional/college level are available on platforms such as Udemy and YouTube. These resources are accessible to the public at no cost, encouraging continuous learning.
  3. Apple Developer Academy @ BINUS: As part of an initiative to empower Indonesia’s economy by cultivating world-class developers, the academy is open to candidates aged 18 and above from any educational background. Full scholarships are available for those who qualify for the program, fostering inclusivity and providing opportunities for skill development in the field of technology and app development.
