Program Objectives . Student Outcomes

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE

The objectives of The Visual Communication Design Study Program are: 

  1. As a source of graduates who become components of nation-building and have local and global knowledge from creative visual communication.  
  2. Carrying history and local values, technology, and entrepreneurship in hope to be able to work and be accepted by the creative industry, society, and the Indonesian nation through the application of visual communication design science by utilizing communication and information technology.

STUDENT OUTCOME

Student Outcome 1

Able to create printed and digital Visual Communication Design (VCD) works that have added values and aesthetics to overcome problems of identity, mass communication, and competition faced by stakeholders. 

  • Learning Objective 1.1.
    • Able to analyze problems and mass communication issues that can be overcome in creating printed and digital visual communication design works. 
  • Learning Objective 1.2.
    • Able to apply communication techniques in the process of creating Visual Communication Design (VCD) works independently or in groups in visual and verbal forms. 
  • Learning Objective 1.3.
    • Able to create Visual Communication Design (VCD) works that have aesthetics to provide solutions to stakeholders with manual and digital techniques based on the appropriate selection of rules.

 

Student Outcome 2

Able to conduct research and idea exploration to set the objectives, communication targets, and Visual Communication Design (VCD) prototype solutions that can overcome problems of identity, mass communication, and competition by considering the ethical, historical, and cultural aspects, as well as social consequences, regulations, and technology. 

  • Learning Objective 2.1.
    • Able to identify research needs and idea exploration. 
  • Learning Objective 2.2.
    • Able to conduct research and idea exploration to set communication goals that can provide solutions to overcome the problems of identity, mass communication, and competition by considering the ethical, historical, and cultural aspects, as well as social consequences, regulations, and technology. 

 

Student Outcome 3

Able to analyze the efficiency of material utilization and time in the production process of each selected Visual Communication Design (VCD) alternative solution prototype without changing the essence and aesthetic design. 

  • Learning Objective 3.1.
    • Able to carry out an analysis and implementation plans for material or technological media utilization in the production process of each selected VCD work efficiently and without changing the essence and aesthetics of the design. 
  • Learning Objective 3.2.
    • Able to perform an analysis and implementation plans for time utilization in the production process of each selected VCD work efficiently and without changing the essence and aesthetics of the design. 

 

Student Outcome 4

Able to design visual communication design artwork by focusing on cultural values and local indigenous as the identity of national citizen’s works by combining contemporary elements. 

  • Learning Objective 4.1.
    • Able to analyze cultural, identity, and local indigenous values of Indonesia. 
  • Learning Objective 4.2.
    • Able to design visual communication design artworks that incorporate Indonesian identity by prioritizing cultural values and local indigenous. 

 

Student Outcome 5

Able to produce illustration design based on the market’s needs and the proper illustration techniques. 

  • Learning Objective 5.1.
    • Able to analyze problems and phenomenon occurring in society based on illustration point of view    
  • Learning Objective 5.2.
    • Able to produce illustration artwork based on market characteristics and the proper illustration techniques. 

 

Student Outcome 6

Able to produce photography and videography works in accordance with technological developments, trend developments and market needs. 

  • Learning Objective 6.1.
    • Able to analyze the concept of photography and videography appropriately according to market needs and the development of creative industry trends 
  • Learning Objective 6.2.
    • Able to create photography and videography works with unique characteristics in accordance with technological developments to solve problems that exist in society 

 

Student Outcome 7

Able to apply interdisciplinary knowledge and skills in developing alternative solutions for problem-solving. 

  • Learning Objective 7.1.
    • Able to identify problems through an interdisciplinary approach. 
  • Learning Objective 7.2.
    • Able to develop alternative solutions for problem-solving by applying interdisciplinary knowledge and skills.
