This “imagination age” positions creativity as a prime economic driver, elevating designers to strategic thinkers.² Graphic design now spans dynamic, interactive systems, with AI, IoT, and VR as integral tools.²

The Digital Metamorphosis: Graphic Design’s Journey

AI excels at rapid ideation and task automation but lacks human creativity, emotional intelligence, and cultural nuance.⁴ Its outputs can be derivative or biased and may include “hallucinations.”⁴

AI reshapes the designer’s role towards creative direction, strategy, and ethical guidance.⁴ Human skills like empathy and critical judgment remain vital.²¹ Ethical issues concerning authorship (copyright of training data ²¹), job displacement ³⁰, and biased AI content ²⁷ are central.
