“Nomad Coffee” Visual Identity Rebranding by Jovan Thierry Cahyadi
The redesign of Jawara Coffee into Nomad Coffee was developed to establish a visual identity that more accurately reflects the brand’s contemporary positioning and its emphasis on mobility. The name “Nomad” represents an individual who moves from one place to another, making it relevant to the brand concept of providing coffee that can accompany consumers throughout their daily journeys. The new identity is built around the keywords dynamic, friendly, and energetic, supported by visual associations such as movement, routes, maps, and continuous journeys. This conceptual direction positions Nomad Coffee as an accessible and practical coffee brand that is closely connected to consumers with active and mobile lifestyles.
The logo exploration translates these concepts into a flexible and dynamic visual system. The letterforms of “nomad” are explored through flowing lines, route-like structures, circular elements, location markers, and directional arrows to communicate movement and continuous travel. The rounded and fluid forms also create a friendly and approachable character while maintaining a contemporary appearance. The resulting logotype combines distinctive typography with visual cues associated with mobility and navigation, allowing the identity to communicate the idea of coffee that can be found and enjoyed anywhere. Through this redesign, Nomad Coffee moves beyond a conventional coffee-shop identity and establishes a stronger visual representation of flexibility, movement, and everyday journeys.
