“Binus Fun Carnival 2024: A Vibrant Celebration of Culture, Creativity, and Community at Binus @Malang” 

Binus Fun Carnival is an exciting annual event organized by Binus @Malang. This carnival is a vibrant celebration that brings together students, faculty, alumni, and member of the community for a day filled with various fun activities, performance, and interactive experiences. With its lively atmosphere and diverse offering including exhibition, games, contest, live mural, photography, mask painting, and many more fun and exciting activities which contributing to a memorable experience for everyone involved. 

On December 12 2024, Binus Fun Carnival was succesfuly drawing hundreds of participants, especially high school students such as SMAN 1 Malang and SMAN 3 Malang who took part in the event, their participation give the carnival an energetic and youthful vibe. This year’s theme also blended the creativity with the rich cultural heritage of Malang. The city where the campus is located, creating a perfect opportunity to entertain and educate attendees about the local culture and values. 

The highlight of the 2024 Binus Fun Carnival definitely was the mask painting workshop, which allowed participants to create their own traditional malangan masks. These mask which have symbolic meanins representing various human characteristic, such as bravery, wisdom, and joy. This workshop was an opportunity for participant to explore the philosophy behind Malangan culture and gain deeper appreciation for the region’s traditions. This is one of many ways to engage and connect the younger generation with their culturan roots. 

Aside from the mask painting activity, Binus Fun Carnival featured a wide range of competitions and performance. Such as coswalk and cosplay competition showcasing the talents of students and their creativity in potraying characters from popular culture. Additionaly, there was a live events such as live sketch and interior photography, live mural and podcast, also TikTok competition to kept attendees entertained and engaged. Scavenger hunt was also added to give an element of excitement and challenge, while exhibitions and workshops offered opportunities for learning and self expression. 

One of the Binus fun carnival most visually striking components was the live mural painting with the theme “Taone + Memakanmu” this mural was a collaborative artwork that aimed to inspire and connect with the attendees while adding a touch of artistic to the event’s overall ambiance. And performance by various student organizations further enhanced the atmosphere, contributing to a dynamic celebration of creativity and collaboration. 

Binus Fun Carnival 2024 was not just an event for entertainment, it served as a platform for students to showcase their talents, connect with one another, and engage with the broader community. As for hight school students, it was an excellent opportunity to experience the university campus life, and ger a feel for its environment while learning about the various academic and extracurricular opportunities available. And for Binus students, this was a change to interact with future students and share their experiences with others people.
