This experimental font have abstract shape and rounded. Its shape are resembles lava and stone and that’s why I make each character are asymmetrical, making the font really have the same characteristic of lava when its erupted from volcano. Lava are still liquid but the opposite of water because its temperature, and just like lava have the characteristic of water. When the volcano erupt lava movement are slow than water and that the reason why i choose to create more rounded edge type than taper type edge. Other than lava its resembles the shape of stone from Hawaiian Tribe ancient relic, which they used for fishing. And for the alphabet itself especially “V, A” are resembles those volcanos and the other alphabet “O, C” are close to the shape of stones that I used for fishing. And the for “I and N” are most resembles to the lava shape when it erupt and go downward to the lower ground. Vulcano are commonly found in tropical island and when its about to erupted there some multiple earthquake and some rumbling soung from the volcanos that kind a reminder for people that the volcano are about to erupt. That’s why I choose the word “Voicano” the combination of “Voice” and “Vulcano” and that if the word are combined into one the meaning would be “The Voice of Vulcano”.

Besides Vulcano there Lava lamp that are similar to lava, which far away more safer that the original lava. Its not the actual lava but the shape are similar to the actual one. The lava inside the lamp are actually colorless liquid but with the help of lamp underneath the lava look like it have color. That exactly why I choose this lava lamp as my references too, even though the characteristic are a bit off, because the actual lava are more thicker that the lava lamp are and the heat are totally different than the original lava. This lava lamp are commonly purchased for night lamp for sleeping because its abstract shape and vivid color that are so many different type from the color, shape, size, and many more. That’s why in this ‘voicano’ can be used in many color as long as the background have the opposite color than the font. To make it readable and can be recognized by people who read that. Because it suitable in many colors and its free shape, it used for informal matter typeface and more suitable for teenage people than older people. The combination of color and shape make this font are so expressive and vibrant in color. There’s no straight lines in this font because if I added some straight lines the lava characteristic can’t seen.

The color can be mixed matched as people like, it can be in high vibrant color such as ‘neon’ or even some soft color like ‘pastel’ which can be used freely. As long as the color are not have the same characteristic. But, there some problem that make this font are a bit hard to make and to understand, If the size are small the font are hardly to read, and that’s why size really matter when its came to this kind of experimental typeface. And If the people who used are not choosing the matched color, the typeface are can’t be read too. As for the uppercase and lowercase only the size are different and the shape are still the same.
