PRODUCT PLACEMENT IN MOVIE
Product placement in movies is important because it gives a lot of benefit to both the movie producer and the brand itself. For an example Audi for sponsoring the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies since Ironman back in 2008 to the newest one Spiderman Far From Home, and it has been Audi’s best investment of all time. Most of MCU movies gain over $ 1 Billion worldwide, meaning the brand has been discovered by millions of people worldwide and the information about its brand is successfully given to the audience. And it doesn’t stop there, there are plenty of movie trailers that is being made for the sake of promoting a brand. Audi itself made a Captain Marvel trailer in order to catch up to Avengers Endgame, the highest grossing movie of all time yet, gaining over 2.8 Billion USD all around the world. So it is so important simply because of massive audience can be gained by a movie that can be a huge benefit for brand awareness. Also, it gives benefit for the movie because they don’t have to buy new cars for shooting, Audi’s got it covered. Simply placing a brand’s product in a movie for the sake of promotion and gaining brand awareness. From the previous example, Audi in MCU movies. Audi’s most appearance was in Avengers Age of Ultron 2015. For an average shot length of 3 seconds from several scenes.
In my opinion sometimes its work but sometimes the audience doesn’t care. In case at Avengers Age of Ultron The Iron Man aka Tony Stark always using the AUDI R8 cars and always make me and all my friends shaking if we look at the car and always say “Tony was me!!!”. Using an influencer at movie is a best idea because everything the idol using it all influence the fans too. A product placement is a form of promotion for television program or movie, on a product placement using a personal paid in case is the marketer. Regular advertising is a non- personal paid for a particular form, sponsor idea, or a product to inform or persuade the audience. A placement strategy is a way for marketers to find the right media for their audience. Why the marketers need to find the media it is because the audience behaviour or the target market behaviour.
