COMM6655012 Introduction to Communication Science (2 SKS): This course provides the fundamentals of communication in the 21st Century, where technology, media, and communication converge and deeply permeate daily life. The dramatic rise in communication technology contributes to face-to-face and mediated communication complexities. This course equips students with the essential communication competencies and critical thinking to face these complexities across life contexts.
COMM6269012 Interpersonal Communication (4 SKS): Everyday interpersonal communication is a complex phenomenon. This course provides in-depth coverage of interpersonal communication, blends theory, research, and practical skills. This course will give the students a better understanding and equipment to communicate effectively. It also features increased coverage of interpersonal communication in social media. This Course is Delivery in English and Flipped Class.
COMM6270012 Psychology of Communication (2 SKS): The main concern of this course is about speech production, speech perception and understanding, language acquisition, psychological reality of linguistic theory. But these main concerns are also interspersed with the treatment of gestural and facial communication, conversation management, and other topics that are considered equally worthy of mention in the course of Psychology of Communication. The goal of this course is to provide an understanding of the natural context of communication as one of the series of channels available to humans to send and receive information. Thus, students will benefit in understanding the structure and properties of communication process carried out by each individual. By studying Psychology of Communication, students have the initial knowledge to study advanced courses such as Communication Theory, Interpersonal Communication, Political Communication, Intercultural Communication, and Communication in Diversity.
COMM6656012 Writing Fundamentals (2 SKS): This course will help students to understand the basic principles of academic writing, including the writing process, elements of writing, vocabularies, and writing models. Through this course, students will gain knowledge about how to write academically in a clear manner, precise and unbiased.
COMM6313012 Public Speaking (4 SKS): This course provides not only the orientation to communication and self-definition as a speaker but also the overall process of effectively preparing and delivering the speech. Students will be able to understand and demonstrate how to become active public speakers and listeners.
COMM6470012 Philosophy and Ethics of Communication (2 SKS): This course is examining how and why we talk about communication the way we do. Students will be able to analyze the dynamics of communication in different facets of a framework. Students will be able to explain how communication ethics should be applied to communication in their everyday lives.
