Overview

Students explore the theories and design practice in terms of design elements & principles, layout, semiotics, visual language, aesthetics, design value, the matters of size, composition, design materials, colours, as well as character building. In addition, students explore the theories and design practice in terms of computer graphic, printing techniques, Digital Imaging, illustration, photography, videography, website, and motion image.

Course Objectives

  1. Understand the definition, history, and scope of design
  2. Master the basic principles of design, such as balance, contrast, proportion, hierarchy, and rhythm
  3. Learn the elements of design, such as line, shape, texture, colour, and space
  4. Understand the design process, from problem identification, research, ideation, prototyping, to testing
  5. Able to apply design principles and elements to create creative and effective design solutions

Overview

In 4th Semester, Students are required to choose two study plans, between Streaming (mandatory to take) combine with cross streaming or minor program or free electives. students can also take two streaming’s from the same campus location. During this period, depending on which programme the student chooses, lectures may be run at another Binus campus that is not their home campus temporarily.

Overview

In an effort to achieve BINUS UNIVERSITY’s goal of making 2 out of 3 graduates work in global companies or become entrepreneurs, BINUS UNIVERSITY created a program called the Enrichment Programme. This programme has a curriculum that has been specifically designed to suit the needs of BINUS students and the needs of the industry.

This enrichment program lasts for 2 semesters in total of 40 credits and applies to VCD Program at BINUS UNIVERSITY, starting from semester 6 to semester 7. Within this period, students can choose within each of those semester to have the provision or experience of working in industry, plunging in the community, engaging in research projects, experiencing the learning process at BINUS partner overseas campuses, developing a business / business, as well as equipping themselves with various professional training / certifications.

For each of VCD students, they are mandatory to choose in one of the semester to engage and experience of working in industry.

Certified Internship Internships offer hands-on industry experience, letting students apply knowledge, learn company culture, tackle real challenges, and boost job prospects. 20 SCU per Semester
Certified Entrepreneurship Aspiring entrepreneurs receive mentorship to develop business plans, refine ideas, and secure funding, with access to on-campus collaborative workspaces.
Certified Community Development This program, involving lecturers, staff, and students, supports BINUS University’s mission to enhance lives through Voluntary Services and Community Development.
Certified Research A research program where students, guided by top BINUS researchers, gain scientific writing skills and create innovative, impactful solutions.
Certified Study Abroad The study abroad program lets students spend 1-2 semesters at partner universities, gaining intercultural experience, job market competitiveness, and soft skills.
Certified Specific Study Independent (SSI) This track offers certified training in fields like digital marketing and data analytics, providing essential skills for today’s job market

Overview

In the last semester, students are required to solve a problem through an integrated campaign. Both design concept and strategy will be put in the academic paper. In addition, students need to implement their ideas into a complete creative display. It aims to evaluate student’s abilities in data analysis, idea development, problem solving, and design execution.
