On November 25, 2023, Dog Days Lab collaborated with BINUS University during the BINUS Festival in Bandung to host a unique and engaging workshop on Cyanotype. This event offered students a hands-on opportunity to explore the artistic process of creating cyanotypes, a historic photographic printing technique.
The workshop, titled “Workshop Cyanotype”, was led by Christopher Gio Sarsono, an experienced artist and creative professional. Christopher guided participants through the steps of cyanotype creation, from preparing materials to developing prints using sunlight or UV light. The workshop encouraged creativity and experimentation, giving students a platform to express their artistic vision.
The objective of the session was to teach students the process of making cyanotypes, allowing them to explore a traditional art form while fostering innovation and creativity. Participants included students from BINUS’s various programs, ensuring a multidisciplinary group with diverse perspectives.
The event was well-organized and supported by detailed documentation, including Christopher’s curriculum vitae, attendance lists, presentation materials, and a structured rundown. A recording of the session was made available to allow participants to revisit the techniques and insights shared.
This collaboration between Dog Days Lab and BINUS University highlighted the importance of blending traditional art forms with modern education. By offering students a hands-on learning experience, the workshop not only enhanced their creative skills but also deepened their appreciation for artistic heritage.
Together, Dog Days Lab and BINUS University created a memorable experience that inspired students to think outside the box and explore new dimensions of creativity in their academic and personal endeavors.
