Public Resources
BINUS University provides free access to a wide range of educational resources for individuals who are not enrolled at the university. As part of its mission to foster and empower the wider community, BINUS has developed several open-access platforms and programs that support inclusive, lifelong learning.
1. Taman Belajar: Open Learning for All Ages and Levels
A key initiative is Taman Belajar, an online learning platform developed by BINUS that is freely accessible to the public, regardless of educational background or age. Users do not need to be BINUS students to register or participate.
Taman Belajar offers:
-
School-level courses for elementary (SD), junior high (SMP), and senior high school (SMA/SMK) students, covering core subjects such as Mathematics, Science, English, Bahasa Indonesia, and Social Studies.
-
Enrichment programs in areas such as Olympiad preparation, photography, public speaking, and introductory programming (e.g., C language).
-
Skill-based and professional courses for adult learners and professionals, including topics like Digital Marketing, AI for Business, Calculus for Machine Learning, and Data Analytics Bootcamps.
All courses are delivered online with structured modules that include video lessons, quizzes, and downloadable learning materials. As a fully web-based platform, Taman Belajar is accessible nationwide and has already reached learners in 30 out of 38 provinces in Indonesia, demonstrating its broad impact and accessibility.

2. BINUS MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses)
BINUS also operates a dedicated MOOC platform that offers university-level courses to the general public at no cost. These self-paced courses are designed to support professional development and exploration in areas such as:
-
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
-
Mobile App Development
-
Animation and Design
-
Finance and Econometrics
-
Language and Culture
MOOC content is developed by BINUS faculty members and allows learners from diverse backgrounds to gain practical knowledge and skills.
3. Apple Developer Academy @ BINUS
Another major initiative is the Apple Developer Academy, a nine-month, full-scholarship program in app development, design thinking, and entrepreneurship. The program is open to any Indonesian citizen aged 18 or older, regardless of their educational background or university affiliation.
Participants are provided with learning devices (MacBook and iPhone) and engage in project-based learning through a Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) framework. The program aims to develop future-ready talent and promote inclusive access to digital skills training.
Through initiatives like Taman Belajar, BINUS MOOC, and the Apple Developer Academy, BINUS University has demonstrated a clear and sustained commitment to making education more open, inclusive, and accessible to the broader public. These programs help bridge the gap between formal education and community learning, enabling people of all ages and backgrounds to access high-quality educational resources free of charge.
