BINUS University regularly hosts events that are open to the public, including public lectures and community educational programs. These activities are part of the university’s mission to foster and empower society. Below are some examples:
- The NUNI International Seminar Series: BINUS collaborates with other universities in the Nationwide University Network in Indonesia (NUNI) to hold this seminar series. In 2023, the event titled “Empowering Youth for a Sustainable Future” was held online from May 11-12. This event was open to the public and included various webinars focused on youth empowerment and sustainability. Participants had the opportunity to engage with speakers from international and local universities and contribute to discussions on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

- TNI Mangunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) Non-Fisik: BINUS University, in collaboration with the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) in Bekasi, organized a community development program. This event involved BINUS lecturers and students providing educational support and tutoring to local communities, contributing to village development. This event is an example of an ad-hoc program that responds to specific community needs as they arise.
- Small Medium Enterprise (SME) Education on Social Media Usage: During the COVID-19 pandemic, BINUS conducted educational sessions for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) about the importance of utilizing social media to sustain economic growth. This initiative was driven by the challenges SMEs faced during the pandemic and the increasing reliance on online platforms during lockdowns.
