Education for SDGs: Commitment to Meaningful Education
BINUS University integrates Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its academic curriculum through various initiatives. Students can choose SDG-based minors, such as Sustainable Design and Manufacture, Digital for Sustainable Development, and Introduction to Sustainable Development, regardless of their discipline. BINUS also emphasizes entrepreneurship courses focused on addressing global challenges like poverty, hunger, education, gender equality, and environmental sustainability. These courses are woven throughout the curriculum and align with the specific missions of each study program. For instance, the Interior Design program emphasizes ethics, local values, and entrepreneurship, while the Tourism program focuses on ecotourism, innovation, and sustainability. Additionally, an enrichment program called Community Empowerment is one of mandatory for all students to foster and empower small organizations outside the universities.
