🌿 ICEED 2026 has officially wrapped up! 🌿

The Faculty of Engineering, BINUS University, successfully hosted the 10th International Conference on Eco Engineering Development (ICEED 2026) on August 6–7, 2026, at BINUS International – FX Sudirman Campus, Jakarta. Held under the coordination of the BINUS Joint International Conference (BJIC), this milestone 10th edition carried the theme “Engineering Innovations for a Sustainable and Resilient Future.”

A Decade of Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Since its inception, ICEED has grown into an international platform connecting researchers, academics, industry professionals, and policymakers to exchange knowledge and foster collaboration across engineering and technology disciplines. This year\’s conference welcomed contributions spanning civil engineering, industrial engineering, computer engineering, architecture, food technology, and biotechnology, with particular emphasis on green technology, sustainable infrastructure, water resource management, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and biotechnology applications for natural resource utilization.

Opening Ceremony and Distinguished Remarks

The conference opened on August 6 with remarks from Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, S.Psi., M.Si. (General Chair of BJIC and Vice Rector for Research and Technology Transfer), Dr. Nelly, S.Kom., M.M., CSCA. (Rector of BINUS University), Dr. Beny Bandanadjaja, S.T., M.T. (Director of Learning and Student Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Republic of Indonesia), and Prof. Dr. Khairul Munadi, S.T., M.Eng. (Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia).

In his remarks, Dr. Beny Bandanadjaja underscored the importance of engineering education in preparing graduates to meet global sustainability challenges, while Dr. Nelly emphasized in her welcome speech that meaningful progress is achieved when academia, industry, government, and communities work together — reinforcing BINUS University\’s commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through this milestone conference.

ICEED 2026 featured seven distinguished keynote speakers across Day 1:

  • Ir. Diana Kusumastuti, M.T. – Deputy Minister of Public Works, Republic of Indonesia
  • Dr. Beny Bandanadjaja, S.T., M.T. – Director of Learning and Student Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Republic of Indonesia
  • Dr. Siti Nurmaya Musa – Senior Lecturer, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Malaya, Malaysia
  • Prof. Youngmin Kang – Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM) and University of Science & Technology (UST), South Korea
  • M. Rozi Rinjayadi, S.T., M.T., M.M. – President Director (Interim), PT Hakaaston
  • Assoc. Prof. Wong Wei Kitt – Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Curtin University Malaysia
  • Prof. Jenshinn Lin – Distinguished Professor, Food Science Department, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan

Their presentations covered a wide range of topics, from sustainable public infrastructure and urban development to artificial intelligence, food extrusion technology, and manufacturing economics — reflecting the conference\’s genuinely interdisciplinary spirit.

Parallel Sessions and Research Presentations

Following the keynote sessions, ICEED 2026 held extensive parallel sessions across five onsite rooms and twelve online breakout rooms, featuring more than 150 research presentations from authors across Indonesia and abroad. Topics ranged from structural and infrastructure engineering, sustainable construction materials, and water resource management, to food technology innovation, biotechnology applications, and green manufacturing practices.

Looking Ahead

The conference concluded on August 7 with a Focus Group Discussion between keynote speakers and faculty members, followed by a closing ceremony that included the announcement of the Outstanding Paper Award. Accepted and presented papers will be considered for publication in the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, with selected outstanding papers to be published in the Indonesian Journal of Urban and Environmental Technology (Scopus – Q3).

As ICEED celebrates its 10th year, the conference reaffirms BINUS University\’s ongoing commitment to advancing high-quality research and strengthening partnerships among academia, industry, and government — driving engineering innovations that contribute to a more sustainable and resilient future.
