BINUS Partners’ Gathering Strengthens Academia and Industry Synergy to Empower Future Talent through the Global Learning Systems

Jakarta, 9 February– The spirit of collaboration between industry and academia continues to grow stronger. At the BINUS Partners’ Gathering held last weekend (06/02), we took a special moment to appreciate the industry partners who contributed to the Global Learning System (GLS) during the Odd Semester 2025/2026, along with many others who have continued to build meaningful collaboration with us.

Since launching GLS in 2012, we have consistently positioned the program as a bridge between classroom learning and real industry practice. Through this initiative, we invite professionals to step directly in bringing practical insights, current case studies, and hands-on perspectives into the learning experience that help our students connect theory with real-world challenges.

Our Vice-Rector for Collaboration and Global Engagement, Dr. Rini Setiowati, conveyed her appreciation for the partners’ active involvement and the shared value created through this long-standing collaboration.

“On behalf of BINUS University, we sincerely appreciate the active participation of our industry colleagues in the GLS program and other collaborative initiatives. We believe this collaboration creates meaningful space for partners to contribute directly to future talent development, while also enriching perspectives through engagement with our academic community and expanding cross-sector and international networks,” she shared.

During the past semester, we engaged 217 industry partners from Indonesia and abroad, including Malaysia, Taiwan, Australia, Ireland, Thailand, the United States, and Japan. Together, they contributed as guest speakers across 412 GLS courses delivered through our online learning platform, BINUSMAYA.

The diversity of sectors represented in GLS continues to be one of the program’s greatest strengths. Among the contributors was Randy Halim from PT Hitachi Channel Solutions Indonesia, who shared that their involvement is driven by a shared commitment to nurturing students’ entrepreneurial mindset.

“We aim to support students in developing an entrepreneurial way of thinking and a strong sense of brand awareness as they start creating their own opportunities. Looking ahead, we also hope to deepen our collaboration with BINUS University through research development, student exchange, and particularly joint projects with the film study program for advertising production,” Randy explained.

The strong and sustained enthusiasm from industry partners has also drawn the attention of Tatum S. Adiningrum, our Senior Manager of Academic Development who is a lecturer involved in the GLS program. In her conversations with partners, she reflected on what truly makes this collaboration valuable from both sides.

“As lecturers, working closely with industry colleagues gives us real-time insight into what is happening in the field. From the partners’ perspective, many mentioned the value of exposure among young talents who will soon enter the workforce. Equally important, they see this as part of their contribution to developing human capital, while also creating opportunities to identify future talent for their organizations,” Tatum noted during the sharing session.

The Partners’ Gathering revealed many valuable insights, not only reinforcing the importance of sustained collaboration between academia and industry to nurture future-ready talents but also highlighting the strong personal commitment of industry professionals to contribute to human capital development.

After more than ten years of running, this collaboration is already making a real difference for many of our graduates as they transition into their careers. The GLS experience not only expands their professional networks but also helps sharpen their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which these capabilities are essential in today’s rapidly evolving digital era.

As this ecosystem continues to grow, we will continue strengthening collaboration with industry partners and global stakeholders to prepare future talent to step forward as tomorrow’s industry leaders.
