On June 9, 2026, teachers from across Solo and its surrounding regions gathered for the “Mastering Coding & AI for Teacher” workshop, a targeted professional development initiative organized in collaboration with educational publisher Erlangga. The event brought together educators affiliated with the regional Subject Teacher, focusing on equipping them with the digital competencies required to navigate and teach in an increasingly tech-driven educational landscape.
As programming and artificial intelligence transition from niche subjects to essential foundational skills, the workshop aimed to bridge the gap between advanced technological concepts and everyday classroom pedagogy. By focusing on practical applications, the event provided local teachers with the tools necessary to integrate modern technology into their curriculums and administrative workflows.
The intensive training material was delivered directly by Feri Setiawan, S.Kom, M.Eng, Ph.D., a distinguished Computer Science lecturer from BINUS International. Bringing his extensive academic and practical expertise to the sessions, Dr. Setiawan guided the educators through foundational coding principles and the responsible implementation of AI in educational settings. His hands-on instructional approach demystified complex computer science topics, ensuring that teachers starting with minimal technical backgrounds could successfully grasp and apply the concepts.
The successful collaboration between Erlangga, BINUS International, and the Solo MGMP highlights a proactive step toward modernizing regional education in Indonesia. By empowering teachers first, the initiative ensures that students in Solo and its surrounding areas will benefit from educators who are confident, capable, and ready to foster the next generation of digital innovators.
