Tangerang, 18 July 2026 – Preparing students and professionals for an AI-driven future requires closer cooperation between higher education and industry. Initiated by SAP Indonesia, the conference served as a regional platform for universities and industry partners across Asia Pacific to share expertise and explore new approaches to education, innovation, and workforce readiness.

For BINUS, it marked a closer step in strengthening the partnership between the School of Information Systems and SAP Indonesia, particularly in preparing students and academic communities for the growing role of artificial intelligence, automation, and enterprise technology. This focus was fully aligned with the conference theme, “Educating Future‑Ready Talent in the Age of the Autonomous Enterprise.”

“By co‑hosting the conference, we reaffirmed our commitment to empowering communities and advancing education. The collaboration between the School of Information Systems and SAP Indonesia represents a concrete step in aligning higher education with global industry dynamics, particularly in the era of automation,” said Rector Nelly during the opening ceremony.

Throughout the conference, seminars and technical workshops provided opportunities for academics and industry representatives to exchange ideas about curriculum development, digital transformation, and technology-based learning. Technology education can no longer focus only on teaching students how to operate systems or apply technical tools. Graduates also need to understand why organizations adopt technology, how digital transformation affects people, and what responsibilities emerge when artificial intelligence becomes part of everyday decision-making.

Collaboration with universities is an important step for SAP Indonesia to develop a technology ecosystem that can respond to current and future industry needs. That approach creates a stronger foundation for preparing future talent. Students can encounter industry concepts while still developing the ability to question, assess, and improve the way technology is used.

“We are proud to support BINUS University’s vision of advancing technology education. Through this collaboration, we’re committed to strengthening a technology ecosystem that is relevant to current industry needs. By integrating AI expertise and advanced technologies into the curriculum, we hope students will be prepared not only to adapt, but also to lead in the era of the Autonomous Enterprise,” shared Sianto Wongjoyo, Managing Director of SAP Indonesia.

The conference was part of the School of Information Systems’ broader efforts to strengthen an innovative and globally connected educational ecosystem. Dr. Rudy, Dean of the School of Information Systems, noted that preparing students for emerging collaborative environments is key to enhancing graduate readiness and supporting the future development of the information technology sector in Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific region.

Meanwhile, students joining the conference had the opportunity to engage with practitioners and see technological change in concrete terms. They observed how academic knowledge connects to workplace realities, learned about emerging employer expectations, and identified areas for continued skill development. Direct interaction with industry professionals also gave them perspectives that will shape their future careers.

More importantly, the conference reinforced a shared commitment between BINUS University and SAP Indonesia to place human development at the center of technological progress. As part of BINUS University’s 45-year commitment to co-creating the intelligent society, industry collaboration plays a critical role in developing work-ready graduates who can think critically, lead responsibly, and use technology to create value for wider communities.
