BINUS University consistently delivers outreach programs and community projects—many led by student volunteers—to promote physical and mental health, hygiene, and overall well-being among local communities. These initiatives are conducted through Teach For Indonesia Student Community (TFISC), which serve as platforms for social contribution and sustainable community development.

One of the initiative in 2024 was “Thrive Together with TFISC”, held at BINUS @Malang in collaboration with Lavalette Hospital. This community outreach program focused on improving physical health and well-being, particularly among the elderly. Activities included a health seminar, free cholesterol checks, and joint exercise sessions (senam bersama) to encourage active aging and preventive healthcare. The event also featured a social assistance program (bantuan sosial), providing basic necessities to local residents in need. Through this collaboration, BINUS and its partners successfully combined education, medical support, and community engagement to promote healthier lifestyles.

Another community-centered initiative was the Health and Hygiene Awareness Program 2024, where student volunteers educated children and families about personal hygiene, handwashing practices, and the importance of maintaining clean environments. The program aimed to cultivate early health awareness and reduce illness through preventive education.

In addition, BINUS organized Sport4Fun 2024, a student-led sports festival promoting fitness, teamwork, and social connection through recreational activities and games. Designed for children and youth in the local community, this event fostered physical activity as a fun and inclusive way to stay healthy and active.

Complementing these outreach activities, BINUS researchers also developed a Euclidean-based decision model for logistic mobilisation in disaster areas, providing a scientific framework to accelerate the delivery of essential supplies to disaster-affected regions. This model supports emergency logistics planning and helps government relief agencies respond more effectively to the needs of refugees and displaced communities during natural disasters.

Through these combined efforts in education, research, sports, and humanitarian action, BINUS University demonstrates its strong and holistic commitment to improving community well-being and resilience in the health sector.
