BINUS University actively promotes sustainability and social responsibility through various student organizations. Two notable organizations that focus on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are Teach for Indonesia (TFI) and AIESEC in BINUS.

Teach for Indonesia (TFI): Empowering Environmental Leadership

  1. Teach for Indonesia Student Community (TFISC) at BINUS empowers students to lead environmental initiatives. This community focuses on environmental education and encourages students to take active roles in raising awareness about climate change, conservation, and sustainability.

Some of the programs under TFISC include:

  • GreenerDay

A program that focuses on greening efforts with the goal of inspiring communities to take concrete steps toward environmental sustainability. In 2024, GreenerDay was held at Ragunan Wildlife Park. The activities included cleaning up waste and planting 55 Jacaranda tree seedlings and 55 Tabebuya plant seedlings. This initiative aimed to maintain environmental cleanliness while raising participants’ awareness of the importance of cleanliness and environmental conservation.

  • Eat, Sleep, Recycle (ESR)

A sustainable campaign aimed at raising awareness, especially among students, about the importance of recycling and reducing textile waste. A total of 70 students participated in a collaborative effort with EcoTouch, a company focused on textile recycling solutions. This collaboration includes several key stages, from collecting used clothing and sorting processes to segregation and organizing educational seminars. Through this initiative, used clothing donated by BINUS students is processed to create a positive impact by reducing textile waste while fostering greater environmental awareness within the BINUS University student community.
