Universitas Bina Nusantara (Binus), with its vision to become a world-class university by 2035, is deeply committed to empowering local communities. This commitment is reflected in the university’s two dedicated departments: Community Empowerment and Teach for Indonesia (TFI). These departments drive outreach initiatives aimed at improving education, healthcare, and economic development in local communities across Indonesia. 

 

Community Empowerment  

Binus has established Binus Community Empowerment, a department focused on developing sustainable solutions for local communities. The department addresses challenges in education, healthcare, and economic growth through various impactful programs. Teach for Indonesia (TFI) 

In collaboration with Teach for Indonesia (TFI), Binus contributes to reducing educational inequality in underserved areas. TFI recruits and trains talented individuals who work as teachers in disadvantaged schools. Binus helps advance this initiative by nurturing future leaders committed to social responsibility. Outreach Programs 

  • BINUS Bekasi Ramadan Community Iftar

    This program strengthens community bonds during Ramadan by hosting a communal iftar and providing essential support to underprivileged communities through the distribution of sembako, promoting social solidarity and compassion. (Source) 

  • BINUS Empowering Society in Labuan Bajo

    BINUS University conducted the Empowering Society program in Labuan Bajo to support UMKM and BUMDes in food security, digital literacy, business management, and local product promotion, while promoting the inclusion of women and youth and contributing to multiple SDGs. (Source)

  • Migrant Workers Empowerment Program
    Binus trains Indonesian migrant workers in building small industries, empowering them to create businesses and contribute to their home communities. (Source)
