Supporting Multiple Disabilities for Sustainability Education at Rawinala

People with multiple disabilities are often considered something terrible, so many people avoid socializing with multiple disabilities. As fellows’ human being, LeX Program (30 Sept – 11 Oct 2024) held short workshop cooperation between Singapore Polytechnic and BINUS University, Jakarta.
There are five groups, each consisting of 10 people, discussing how to support people with multiple disabilities in Rawinala. Rawinala is an institution that serves the educational and care needs for persons with multiple disabilities, especially for persons visual impairment, located in West Jakarta, Indonesia.
From this short workshop, some innovations and solutions are discussed and ready to implement. The solutions are very innovative like books, campaigns, events and competition, even applications which concern to support Rawinala. There will be global solutions which can improve quality education (point no. 4 SDG), the innovative solutions also help the teachers and staff in Rawinala to be happier and more productive. The group is also concerned with preparing people with multiple disabilities to work as common people, do the work productively and independently. It is solving global problems point no. 8 SGD about productive employment and decent work. Then these activities are also impactful for peace, justice, and strong institutions (no. 16 SDG).
