According to Kenichi Ohmae cited by Dirgantoro (2007:64-65), there are four ways or methods to strengthen the company’s position compared with its competitors, among others:
- Business strategy methods based key success factors
This method to identify key success factors within a business, and insert or add a bunch of resources into business areas such as the company saw the opportunity to gain strategic advantage in comparison with competitors.
1.Methods cost advantage
The strategy carried out by means of cost reduction and efficiency improvement. This strategy resulted in the product with the lowest cost possible to apply the technology in an effort to cut costs, reduced operating costs, and using a sales technique to generate huge profits.
2. Method of differentiation strategy
Strategies to get the attention of customers or buyers with trying to create and market products that have unique characteristics.
3. Method focus strategy
Strategies to obtain special interest for one or more groups of customers or buyers of the industry by focusing on the cost factor or product differentiation.
