Have you ever experienced online shopping first-hand? If you happen to be not, then, this
summary is designed likewise. Online (internet shopping) can be a cumbersome experience at
both ends of the spectrum, whether it is the customers or the businesses that are trying to
implement it properly. To be fair, the process of digital transformation is not one that happens
instantly, but rather a rigorous process involving all aspects of the business itself. These aspects
are; CRM (customer relationship management), Marketing (digital), CRR (customer retention
rate), SCM (supply chain management), Stock/Inventory management, Product distribution
channels and so on.
Furthermore, humans by nature are keen on being more efficient upon doing tasks. One
such task we can all agree on to be digitally transformed is shopping. Offline shopping has been
known as a tedious and time-consuming process that is seen unnecessary in today’s fast-paced
world. Oftentimes, offline shopping is slowly being replaced by its online counterpart. This
change has grown rampant as the commodity exchange centers have shifted towards the online
revolution, leaving old-school local wet markets, supermarkets, malls and etc in despair.
This ongoing trend has led to some major business closings. As such, people have
gradually shifted to the more comfortable (though less reliable) E-commerce model. A more
agile and 24/7 approach to digital shopping. By E-commerce, MSME’s (Micro, Small and
Medium Enterprises) have the innate ability to enhance their customer purchase friction by
letting them purchase goods and services right from the comfort of their home. Every product
viewing (searching) and transactions are seamlessly conducted online. Say goodbye to old
shopping habits one would say, as online is the new norm.
To further elaborate, this paragraph is dedicated to elaborate on what really is an
E-commerce and E-marketplace. E-commerce (Electronic Commerce) is the activity that
involves the distributing, selling, buying and marketing products (goods and services) by
utilizing telecommunications networks such as the internet, television, or other various computer
networks for that purpose. In simple terms, e-commerce is the process of buying and selling
products electronically. E-commerce itself has grown in recent years (especially in Indonesia)
and is slowly replacing traditional brick-and-mortar shops (Offline).
By this stance, we as a group view E-commerce as the bridge that further closes the gap
between the merchant and its customer. Moreover, the ongoing pandemic is a prime example of
the premise as physical interaction is an absolute no-go.
As a result, our group decided to take the initiative as to provide Indonesia’s booming
digital economy and transformation. A change that is accelerated by this pandemic. A change
that gives us a chance to provide an “E-commerce website builder” services. Our service is
predicted to suit the growing demand and needs of local MSME’s to transform themselves
digitally as to ripe the only available profits in these harsh times. This digital transformation will
in turn help these MSME’s in maintaining continuity of their businesses.
