Development of an Industrial Tourism Application to Improve Economic Benefit
Abstract: The Bekasi District Government’s Tourism Office in Indonesia has identified the need for support in promoting specialized tourism options like industrial and village tourism. Currently, these options are managed manually, using methods like email, phone calls, and spreadsheets. The Tourism Office needs an application to effectively promote these options, particularly industrial tourism. The proposal aims to design a mobile-based industry visit tourism application that streamlines management and serves as a tool for its introduction and promotion. The application will be developed using the system development life cycle stages and will foster collaboration with stakeholders in the tourism industry, such as destination category of industry, user, tour guide, location, accommodations, and others. A prototype application for industrial tourism visits was produced. The industrial visit tourism application, as discussed in this research, can integrate various economic sectors, including manufacturing, trade, culinary, and handicrafts, and contribute to local economic development. With this application, if targeting 1 % of the number of smartphone users will get around 1,700,000 users. This can increase the amount of local government revenue.
