Machine learning has made tremendous progress in recent years including generating models that can accurately recognize objects and their locations within an image, translate languages, recognize deviations from common occurrences (anomalies), and even beat world champions in games such as chess and go. These advancements have revolutionized many industries from education and finance to healthcare and entertainment. However, as machine learning models become more complex, they become increasingly difficult to understand and interpret.
