Impactful IP<\/h1>\n

Your research deserves to reach the world. Impactful IP is how BINUS measures whether it actually does.<\/p>\n

BINUS currently holds 2500+ registered IP assets<\/strong> \u2014 Impactful IP turns that into real-world change.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u2014 What Is It<\/p>\n

IP \u2014 and what makes it “Impactful”<\/h2>\n

Intellectual Property (HKI) protects the innovations and creative works produced by BINUS researchers. But at BINUS, we hold IP to a higher standard.<\/p>\n

\n

An IP is classified as Impactful<\/strong> when it is actively used or promoted by an external party<\/strong> \u2014 a community group, industry partner, government body, MSME\/UMKM, or alumni. It must go beyond the certificate. It must reach real users.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Two conditions must both<\/strong> be met to claim Impactful IP:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcc4 Granted or Registered<\/p>\n

The IP must be officially granted by DJKI \u2014 or registered (applicable to Patents & Industrial Designs) in the same year.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

\ud83e\udd1d Implemented Externally<\/p>\n

The IP must have been used or promoted by an external partner \u2014 with evidence to prove it. The community or partner need to consist of more than 10 members.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Example<\/p>\n

A BINUS-owned software IP is actively adopted by an industry partner \u2014 not just demonstrated at a seminar. A photo of the partner using the software counts as valid evidence.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u2014 Why It Matters<\/p>\n

Why Impactful IP matters for lecturers<\/h2>\n

KPI<\/p>\n

It counts toward your performance indicators \u2014 potentially twice<\/h3>\n

Every study program has 2 HKI targets per year: Standard IP and Impactful IP. A single strong product can be claimed across three PIs simultaneously \u2014 Impactful IP, Technology Used, and Product Commercialized.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Career<\/p>\n

It strengthens your academic profile<\/h3>\n

Documented IP utilization carries real weight in SINTA scoring, Jabatan Fungsional promotion, and eligibility for competitive grants from BRIN and DRTPM Kemendikbud.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Achievable<\/p>\n

It’s more accessible than most lecturers think<\/h3>\n

Implementation doesn’t require a licensing deal. A community using your video content, or an UMKM distributing your tool \u2014 with a screenshot as evidence \u2014 is sufficient to qualify.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It reflects real research impact<\/h3>\n

The Impactful IP target is one of BINUS’s quality objectives \u2014 a direct reflection of the BINUSIAN commitment to empowering society, not just producing papers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

How to claim via the BINUS HKI App<\/h2>\n

The entire process runs through the HKI Apps platform.<\/p>\n

Register Your IP<\/h3>\n

Submit your IP via HKI Apps \u2192 Sign the Surat Pernyataan & Pengalihan<\/em> \u2192 Send hardcopy to RTT \u2192 Note in the comments if you plan to claim Impactful IP.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Submit Your Claim<\/h3>\n

Once your IP is Granted\/Registered and<\/em> implemented: go to HKI Apps Dashboard \u2192 Select your IP \u2192 Click “Claim Impactful IP”<\/strong> \u2192 Fill the form and upload evidence.<\/p>\n
