Prelimenary Program

The UK–Indonesia Research Translation in Healthcare Forum is a strategic opening program of the BINUS HealthTech Festival 2026, designed to strengthen the translation of academic research into real-world impact. Aligned with Indonesia’s national long-term and medium-term development priorities — including the RPJPN 2025–2045 and RPJMN 2025–2029 — the Forum provides a high-level platform for researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and community stakeholders to co-develop actionable mechanisms that connect research outputs to policy and practice, with AI and transformative technologies as overarching themes and health as the strategic entry point.

Building on prior findings supported by the British Council, the Forum advances institutional enablers for research translation, including recognition of non-traditional research outputs, flexible collaboration models, policy incentives, and inclusive participation for underrepresented groups. It creates a space where diverse stakeholders move beyond dialogue into structured co-creation — producing frameworks and commitments that can meaningfully accelerate affordable and equitable healthcare solutions for Indonesia.

The Forum brings together a distinguished group of participants, including leading researchers from the medical, healthcare, and pharmacy fields; leaders from higher education institutions; medical practitioners; professional associations; the medical and healthcare industry; and government representatives. High-level speakers include Prof. Fauzan Adziman (Director General of Research and Development, Ministry of Higher Education), Dr. Dra. Lucia R Andalucia (Director General of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices, Ministry of Health), Martina Garau (University of Nottingham), Han-I Wang (University of York), Prof. Dr. dr. Budi Wiweko (University of Indonesia), and international experts from the University of York, BRIN, and BINUS University, among others.
