Mr. Hendy Risdianto Wijaya sharing about practical Business Model Canvas making

On June 26th, the BINUS Technology Transfer Unit took part in the “Inkubasi UMKM Indonesia Go Export 2025” event, hosted by BCA Group and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). The invitation came from Ms. Romarga Waworuntu, Assistant Vice President of BCA Group, and Ms. Nunki Juniarti, Executive Coordinator of ICC Indonesia.

This impactful program selected over 20 outstanding SMEs from more than 1,000 applicants to participate in a specialized export readiness incubation program. The participants came from diverse sectors — ranging from premium coffee, artisan flour, and culinary products to fashion, footwear, and household crafts. Each founder representative underwent intensive workshops designed to sharpen their business and marketing skills for international markets.

BINUS Technology Transfer was represented by Technology Transfer Specialist Mr. Hendy Risdianto Wijaya, accompanied by 12 business-focused interns currently undergoing hands-on training in business proposal development and commercialization strategy.

As part of the event, BINUS facilitated a dedicated sharing session focused on three key topics: practical application of the Business Model Canvas, strategies for developing an export-ready business, and fundamental marketing tactics to penetrate overseas markets. The session was designed to provide simple yet actionable frameworks that SME founders could immediately apply.

Workshop sessions with Technology Transfer interns

Following the knowledge-sharing session, participants were divided into smaller groups to engage in interactive business strategy workshops. BINUS interns actively guided each group, offering practical support in areas such as value proposition design, product-market fit assessment, and market entry strategies tailored to export goals.

This event also served as a bridge for future collaboration. Several SME founders expressed interest in exploring deeper engagements with BINUS researchers to help develop product innovations and research-backed business strategies. Ongoing discussions are being initiated to explore customized research and development (R&D) support, especially for SMEs keen to expand their global footprint.

Discussion and Coaching on Business Model Canvas making

BINUS Technology Transfer’s involvement in this program is part of our broader Initiative Projects, which aim to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset among young researchers. By engaging directly with real-world business challenges, students and interns gain firsthand experience in business development, commercialization pathways, and market-oriented research applications.

Interns participating in this program are not just passive learners but active contributors — interacting with seasoned practitioners from BCA Group, ICC Indonesia, and successful SME founders. The ultimate goal is for these young talents to conclude the program by producing actionable, product-driven business proposals, equipping them with entrepreneurial skills essential for future career success.

This is just the beginning. We are committed to continually expanding these opportunities, creating additional platforms where researchers and students can collaborate with industry players to foster innovation, commercialization, and impactful community engagement.
