Carrying a Mission to Bring Indonesian Higher Education to the World

Seoul, South Korea 4 November 2025 – BINUS University has once again shown its commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s higher education position on the global stage through its role as a Strategic Partner at the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2025, held in Seoul, South Korea, and hosted by Korea University.

This prestigious event brought together university leaders, academics, and higher education professionals from various countries in the Asia Pacific region to discuss the future direction of education with the theme “Advancing Generational Potential: Skills and Partnerships in the Asia Pacific.”

As a Strategic Partner, BINUS University carries a big mission to introduce the potential and excellence of Indonesian higher education to the world. Through innovation, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and real contributions to human resource development, BINUS affirms its role in building an inclusive and competitive global education ecosystem.

In this activity, Prof. Dr. Ir. Derwin Suhartono, S.Kom., MTI and Prof. Firdaus Alamsjah, Ph.D. from BINUS University also became speakers in several strategic discussion sessions. They shared their experiences and insights on the development of young talents, research that impacts society, and the importance of collaboration between industry and academia in preparing an adaptive and creative future generation.

In addition to participating in the conference, the BINUS University delegation also carried out various strategic activities while in South Korea. Among them are visits to the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Seoul to strengthen relations with Indonesian diplomatic representatives, establish friendship with BINUS alumni who have careers and continue their studies in South Korea, and visit several international partner universities.

As part of efforts to expand global collaboration, BINUS University also signed cooperation agreements with a number of the world’s top universities in the fields of education, research, and talent development. This step is a tangible manifestation of BINUS’ commitment to strengthening international academic networks that support the achievement of the university’s vision of becoming a World-class University.
