Produk keluaran UNILEVER sangat banyak, mulai dari es krim sampai ke sampo. Aspek eksplisit dari UNILEVER yang dapat langsung dikenali yaitu dari logo dan fungsinya sebagai produsen kebutuhan rumah tangga. Konsumen dapat langsung mengenali produk UNILEVER ini dari logo yang tertera ada setiap produknya. Selain itu UNILEVER adalah produsen barang kebutuhan rumah tangga seperti sabun mandi, bumbu dapur dan es krim\u00a0 sehingga dapat dipastikan bahwa UNILEVER tidak memproduksi barang elektronik atau furniture. Keberagaman produk yang diproduksi dibawah UNILEVER memiliki logo pada setiap kemasannya. Dari logo itu sendiri tergambarkan bahwa UNILEVER memproduksi berbagai macam jenis kebutuhan rumah tangga. Logo Unilever didesain menggunakan elemen gambar kecil-kecil mewakili konsep ratusan brand produk UNILEVER. Keseluruhan gambar kecil-kecil yang berjumlah 25 itu membentuk huruf \u2018U\u2019 yang menyimbolkan: \u2018U\u2019 can make a difference. Jika logo ini melekat pada media lain seperti media iklan cetak dan tidak pada barang dagangannya maka masyarakat dapat mengerti bahwa logo tersebut adalah logo UNILEVER produsen kebutuhan sehari &#8211; hari.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Aspek implisit sebuah merek yaitu hal \u2013 hal yang melekat seperti reputasi atau imej. Aspek implisit tersebut salah satunya yaitu penonjolan iklan dan citra yang dibangun oleh UNILEVER yang tujuannya untuk meningkatkan tingkat awarness dan reputasi. Untuk membangun reputasi tersebut UNILEVER pernah menarik produk detergen bubuk Viso karena dianggap \u2018gagal\u2019. Hal ini dilakukan untuk menjaga reputasinya agar tidak tercemari oleh produk yang gagal. Karena sekali brand dianggap gagal maka reputasinya akan menjadi negatif. Produk UNILEVER dari segi kualitas jika dibandingkan dengan produk Value Plus dari Hypermart juga akan berbeda. Untuk memilih produk dengan kualitas yang bagus maka konsumen akan memilih produk dari UNILEVER sedangkan untuk mendapatkan produk yang murah maka konsumen memilih Value Plus. Tim pemasaran UNILEVER memiliki slogan yaitu \u2018Crafting brand for life\u2019 karena begitu banyaknya produk yang dihasilkan oleh UNILEVER sehingga tanpa konsumen sadari kebutuhan rumah tangga mereka semua berasal dari UNILEVER. Aspek implisit berkaitan dengan local resource seperti values, taste, meanings, relationship, dan kedekatan brand dengan konsumen. Biasanya hal ini dilakukan dengan menyesuaikan dengan selera pasar setempat. Contohnya rasa es krim UNILEVER untuk di Indonesia dibuat lebih manis dibandinkan es krim yang dijual diluar Indonesia. Selain itu Wall\u2019s juga mengeluarkan varian es krim dengan cita rasa khas Indonesia seperti rasa Es Kopyor. UNILEVER juga menyesuaikan kearifan lokal sehingga merek dagang untuk satu produk yang sama memiliki sekian banyak variasi nama berdasarkan tempat barang itu dijual. Contohnya es krim Wall\u2019s di Indonesia dan Australia namun di Portugal namanya diganti menjadi Santa Iria de Az\u00f3ia.<\/p>\n<p>Selain membangun citra melalui citra produk, UNILEVER juga membangun kedekatan dengan konsumennya. Salah satunya yaitu dengan mengadakan kegiatan \u2013 kegiatan kemanusiaan atau event kekeluargaan. Yang baru saja terjadi di Bandung yaitu Ice Cream Day oleh Wall\u2019s yang merupakan salah satu merek produk dibawah label UNILEVER. Kegiatan tersebut tentu saja menambah reputasi positif kepada konsumen sebagai produsen kebutuhan rumah tangga.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2545\" src=\"http:\/\/binus.ac.id\/malang\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Miran1i-1-640x312.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"312\" srcset=\"https:\/\/binus.ac.id\/malang\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Miran1i-1-640x312.png 640w, https:\/\/binus.ac.id\/malang\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Miran1i-1.png 827w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sebagai house of brand yang memproduksi ribuan merek dagang di seluruh dunia, UNILEVER menggunakan strategi pemasaran invisible brand yaitu dengan tidak mengekspos imej dan identitas UNILEVER disetiap promosi produknya. Strategi ini pernah dipakai juga pada Proctor &amp; Gemble\u2019s (P&amp;G). Berikut ini imej positif dan negatif dari merek UNILEVER :<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Masyarakat mengerti bahwa UNILEVER adalah produsen kebutuhan sehari hari seperti sabun, makanan ringan hingga detergen. Namun masyarakat kurang mengenali merek \u2013 merek dibawah UNILEVER. Hal ini dikarenakan mungkin kurangnya pemunculan identitas UNILEVER dalam setiap merek dagangannya.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cara UNILEVER menggunakan dan memanfaatkan kearifan lokal daat dibilang sangat efektif. Sehingga ada jalinan keterkaitan antara konsumen dengan produk. Salah satunya yaitu dengan mengadakan acara \u2013 acara atau event yang sesuai dengan lokasi pemasaran. Contohnya yaitu kegiatan CSR \u201cNyuci Piring Bareng Sunlight\u201d yang hal ini belum tentu bisa diterapkan di negara lain.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sebagai house of brand UNILEVER memang tidak menonjolkan jati dirinya terlalu banyak, sehingga masyarakat tidak bingung akan citra dari barang tersebut mengingat jumlah merek dagang yang berada dibawah UNILEVER sangatlah banyak.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Gramae Naewell seorang ahli emotional marketing mengatakan bahwa shadow marketing UNILEVER dinilai efisien karena konsumen menjadi tidak bosan dengan merek yang itu \u2013 itu saja yang kembali lagi bahwa produk UNILEVER jumlahnya sangat banyak.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Keuntungan dari penerapan house of brand yaitu apabila UNILEVER mengeluarkan produk baru maka produk tersebut akan memiliki citra yang setara dengan produk UNILEVER yang lama.
