This course introduces the world of international business and how to conduct a business in different countries. Students will understand the terminology, theories, principles, models, and frameworks to explain why and how a company engages in international business. This course takes a managerial approach in providing an overview of the economic, social, environmental, political, technological and cultural dimensions of doing business across borders as well as the local and international parties that may impact the firm’s success in its international business operations. Furthermore, this course provides an overview of the overall strategies that companies can take, and the alternatives of operating business abroad as it faces global issues. The course based its core on how the business world has become globalized and borderless, by understanding this phenomenon from a managerial perspective, it will help the study of modern business in a global context.
