Indonesia is a country with many areas at high risk of natural disasters, including floods, extreme weather, earthquakes, and tsunamis. According to the 2019 World Disaster Risk Index, Indonesia ranked 37th out of 180 countries most vulnerable to disasters. As of May 18, 2020, 1,296 disasters had been recorded, with damage affecting 331 educational facilities, 396 places of worship, 32 health facilities, 58 offices, and 181 bridges.
