Aditi loves music, movies, racquet sports, and – finance. She has moved to Indonesia right after high school in 2016. An exciting time for the family – her father was starting a new post, and she, her undergraduate study. She selected BINUS UNIVERSITY<\/a> as it offered an international program in her field of passion on a 3+1 track. She is now completing her final year at Cologne Business School<\/span><\/i>\u00a0(CBS)<\/span><\/i>. This is her story about how BINUS degree\u00a0<\/span><\/i>helps her develop into<\/span><\/i>\u00a0a young mobile professional<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Aditi, what are the main reasons you joined BINUS?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

For me and my family was important that I continue studying my passion at a university with an international outlook. As I studied accounting and economics in high school, I knew I wanted to pursue a bachelor\u2019s degree in this field. It was important for us that the environment is international so that I would feel accepted as a foreigner and gain a global experience needed to find employment either in India or elsewhere. Binus was the only international university with a finance major available in Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n

How does BINUS support your international employability?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

2 in 3 BINUS graduates become entrepreneurs or work in global companies. I think this is made possible through its unique 3+1 Enrichment Program. Every student is expected to spend one year on either of the five following tracks: study overseas, research, incubator, internship or community development. I feel that the double degree option I am currently taking with CBS will help me land a job more easily with two reputable degrees in my hand and business experience from the Asian and European context.\u00a0 The bonus, of course, is to be able to travel around and make new friends.<\/span><\/p>\n

How does it compare to sit in BINUS and Cologne Business School classrooms?\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In both\u00a0<\/span>places,<\/span>\u00a0the teacher values a student\u2019s opinion and thought. They are always ready to answer any doubts a student has.\u00a0<\/span>Learning is derived from the discussion and team projects. BINUS hosts <\/span>international\u00a0<\/span>students and\u00a0<\/span>lecturers\u00a0<\/span>so I could connect and adjust with relative ease to a very international environment at CBS. Moreover, the program at BINUS is rigorous, so I was well prepared for my final year at CBS.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the most valuable experience you cherish from BINUS and CBS?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

I really deepened my knowledge of accounting and finance at BINUS. After three years I can say I understand well how the <\/span>finance department of a company\u00a0<\/span>works. I also know the Indonesian language now thanks to interactions with my fellow students. BINUS students are active. <\/span>Our clubs often hold large-scale competitions for university and high school students.\u00a0<\/span>It is a great experience for me to have organized a big event like that with our Finance Club. I learned teamwork and discipline.\u00a0<\/span>In the past 3 week<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>at<\/span> CBS,<\/span>\u00a0I have been\u00a0<\/span>interacting with students from around the world<\/span>. This cultural diversity helps me understand different perspectives.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are your hopes for the future?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My plan, for now, is to <\/span>graduate with high<\/span>\u00a0grade<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>end to enter a master program in<\/span>\u00a0marketing and business management<\/span>\u00a0field<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>I have\u00a0<\/span>shortlisted some universit<\/span>ies<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in<\/span>\u00a0Europe\u00a0<\/span>already\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>will soon be<\/span>\u00a0applying there<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Later\u00a0<\/span>I\u00a0<\/span>expect to<\/span>\u00a0work in\u00a0<\/span>a multinational corporation\u00a0<\/span>or\u00a0<\/span>in one of\u00a0<\/span>the top\u00a0<\/span>four<\/span>\u00a0accounting firm<\/span>s.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
