The construction process on soft soil is a challenge for engineers. This is due to the low carrying capacity of the soil in soft soil. Not only that, land subsidence due to consolidation can also occur. Therefore it is necessary to repair or strengthen the soil, so that the soil can support the structures built on it (Alexiew et al., 2009).
From the processing of soil data, it is known that the soil is classified as soft clay. Therefore, the preloading method with vacuum as well as embankment was chosen. In addition, a prefabricated vertical drain with Tencate Polyfate Alidrain type AD 230 is also used to speed up the consolidation time, which uses a square pattern with a distance of 1.8 m and a depth of 17 m. This method is considered the most effective and efficient way to solve problems in soft soils.
In the repair and strengthening design carried out, there are several design criteria that need to be met. These conditions include a static safety factor of 1.5, an earthquake safety factor of 1.1 and a decrease during service life of less than 20 cm. Where, the results of each factor of safety and degradation during the service life can be seen in the table on the picture gallery
