The ESG Forum at BINUS University has developed into a dynamic platform for fostering sustainability dialogue, interdisciplinary collaboration, and stakeholder engagement across academic and professional communities. Since its initial launch in 2024, the forum has continuously evolved in both scope and impact.

The journey began with ESG Research Forum 1 (August 2024), which positioned ESG as an academic discourse within BINUS Business School. This session brought together faculty members across disciplines to explore sustainability issues, laying the foundation for ESG integration into research and teaching. Shortly after, ESG discussions expanded to international exposure through the World Café Session at the BINUS Indo-Pacific Forum (Bali, August 2024), emphasizing the importance of bridging academia and industry in strengthening the ESG ecosystem.

Building on this foundation, the forum transitioned into more thematic and applied discussions. ESG Forum 3 (March 2025) highlighted the importance of certification, reflecting a growing awareness of standards, assurance, and professionalization in ESG practices. This marked a shift from conceptual discussions toward implementation and credibility in sustainability reporting and governance.

The ESG Forum further expanded its reach beyond Jakarta through ESG Forum @BINUS Malang (June 2025), showcasing interdisciplinary contributions from various fields such as design, communication, business, and technology. This event emphasized practical solutions, including sustainable materials, circular economy practices, and behavioral approaches to sustainability.

Most recently, the initiative has strengthened multi-stakeholder engagement through the Stakeholder Engagement Forum (July 2025). This forum brought together academic experts and industry practitioners to discuss ESG challenges and opportunities, reinforcing BINUS’ role as a bridge between knowledge creation and real-world application.

The ESG Forum has evolved from an internal academic discussion platform into a broader ecosystem for sustainability engagement, integrating research, education, and stakeholder collaboration. It reflects BINUS University’s commitment to fostering sustainability awareness, developing ESG capabilities, and contributing to national and regional sustainability agendas.
