The Influence of Lecturers’ Competencies Towards Students’ Performance Motivation: A Case Study at Higher Education
Abstract
The research aims to examine the influence of lecturers’ competences towards student achievement motivation. By knowing the relationship lectures’ competencies and performance motivation, researchers intend to provide feedback for Bina Nusantara University towards the development of lecturers’ competencies and motivation. The competencies of the lecturers are the external factors that bolster students’ motivation to perform appropriately. The research was quantitative-based approach and engaging 30 respondents of Bina Nusantara University students. The results showed that the influence of lecturers’ competency towards students’ performance motivation counted for 34.4%. It signified that 65.6% contribution is based on other factors. Lecturers’ competencies, that predisposed high impact towards students’ performance motivation, comprised of social, pedagogic, and personality competencies. The subsequent studies are recommended to be explored in depth.
