By: Petrus Lakonawa
Jakarta, November 27, 2025 — A group of BINUS international students from the Character Building classes participated in an enriching educational field trip to the National Museum of Indonesia, located in Central Jakarta. The activity, held on Thursday, November 27, 2025, was facilitated by Ms. Adsina Fibra, Mr. Petrus Lakonawa, and Ms. Megawati Silitonga.
The visit was designed as part of BINUS University’s commitment to providing experiential learning opportunities that strengthen students’ understanding of Indonesian culture, identity, and history. By exploring one of the country’s most renowned museums, students were able to engage directly with historical artifacts, cultural collections, and exhibitions that portray Indonesia’s past and present.
For many of the participants—who come from diverse international backgrounds—the trip offered a valuable and eye-opening introduction to Indonesia. They expressed enthusiasm and appreciation for the opportunity to see firsthand the rich cultural heritage that they have been studying in the classroom.
According to Ms. Adsina Fibra, the field trip helped students connect classroom concepts with real-world experiences, deepening their reflections on cultural diversity, national identity, and shared human values.
Students also highlighted that the experience broadened their perspectives on Indonesia’s unique historical journey and deep cultural roots. Many felt that visiting the museum enhanced their understanding of the topics discussed in class and strengthened their sense of connection with the local context during their studies in Jakarta.
With activities like this, BINUS University continues to promote holistic and culturally grounded learning while building character and global awareness.
