\u201cArt Doesn\u2019t Have To Be Expensive, It Just Needs To Be Expressive.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n

BSSC Collage Art Workshop is one of the events held by the BSSC Art and Culture Subdivision BSSC 14th Presidency. This year, the event follows the theme of “Art Doesn\u2019t Have To Be Expensive, It Just Needs To Be Expressive,” using the art technique collage as the main focus of the event,\u00a0 becoming the first collage art\u00a0 event of BSSC! This event was held onsite at BINUS Square on June 16, 2024, with the purpose of introducing the art of collage to the participants, encouraging them to embrace their artistic side, engage in fun activities, and gain new friends. The event included a series of activities such as games, an educational session about collage art presented by the two speakers, Kireina Ivana and Felicia Fincen,\u00a0 Visual Communication Design (VCD) students from BINUS University with experience in collage art, to assist participants in creating their own collage artworks.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The first activity of the event began with a mini game titled “Memory Collage Game.” During this session, the gamekeeper began explaining the rules and mechanism of the game, dividing participants into two groups. Each participant from the group was given the opportunity to open 2 cards to find matching pairs from the shuffled, face-down cards. Participants who successfully found a pair of matching cards were awarded 1 point for their group and were given another chance to open 2 more cards to find another pair. If a participant failed to find a matching pair, the turn would be passed to the opposing group to continue the game. The group with the highest points was declared the winner.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The next activity conducted was an educational session. During this session, the speakers provided knowledge about what collage art is, the different types of collage, techniques used in collage, and the design compositions utilized. Afterwards, a Q&A session was conducted to allow participants to ask questions. The participants were very enthusiastic in asking questions. The aim was for the participants to understand collage art and be able to apply this knowledge in creating their own collages after the material session.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Following that, a short multiple-choice quiz was presented to the participants to answer the questions provided. If a participant correctly answered a quiz question, they could earn points for their group. During the quiz session, participants were very eager to answer each question in order to achieve the maximum points for their group.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

After successfully answering several quiz questions, participants were provided with the opportunity to create their own collage artworks. For this creative activity, they were given time to individually create and work on their collage projects according to their own creative ideas. Participants could design their works using the tools and materials that had been provided, allowing them to express their ideas through collage.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Upon finishing their collages, the participants presented their works in front of the group, showcasing the results of their creations. During the presentations, participants explained the meaning, ideas and the inspiration behind their artworks. The goal was for the participants\u2019 works to be seen by others and to increase their confidence in the artworks they had created.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Afterwards, all the artworks created by the participants were collected to be reviewed and assessed by the speakers in order to determine their favorite pieces among the participants’ collage artworks based on three criterias which were creativity, meaning behind the piece and how closely follows the theme of the event. The three winners were Anastasia, who won the criteria of creativity with her collage artwork shaped like a seahorse as blue as the sea; Kent, who won the criteria of meaning behind his collage artwork representing \u2018travel\u2019; and Vincent, whose collage followed the theme of the event the closest out of all the participants.<\/p>\n

The event concluded with a group photo including participants, speakers, and organizers of the activity.<\/p>\n
