BSSC Cadre Forming 2021 “A New Journey”

BSSC Cadre Forming (or LDK-A) is an annually held event to welcome and give insight about BSSC to the new members of BSSC before they officially became a member of BSSC. The event was held in five days, starting from the 8th to the 12th of December 2021. The main theme of BSSC Cadre Forming 2021 is “A New Journey”, which sets up the story of Tour Guides (the MC) guiding the tourists (candidates) to a new journey, which symbolizes the beginning of their journey in BSSC.

The first day of Cadre Forming was held on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021, from 19.00 – 21.45 WIB. It served as an opening for the whole five days of the event. The first day started with opening words from influential figures in the event, such as the Project Manager of Cadre Forming 2021, Maria Ivana, and a representative from PDC (Program Development Center), Yuliana Sari Arianna. After the opening words, the securities (from Disciplinary division) read the rules and regulations that the candidates needed to take notice of so that the event could go well. The event then continued to the talk show session. The Tour Guides invited three speakers under the spotlight. Each speaker would talk about their experiences with BSSC from different perspectives.

The first speaker was Meivy Wilnio, representing the alumni of BSSC, who shared her perspective on balancing organizational life and university life. Aditia Perdana, representing PDC, talked about the relationship between PDC and BSSC over the years and also the ethics in organizational life. Last but not least, Umu Amalia, representing SCAC (Student Club and Activity Center), gave insights about the vision, mission, and hope of BINUS University towards BINUSIAN who are active in student organizations. She also talked about BSSC’s previous contributions to BINUS and gave tips to the candidates on their new journey in organizational life. Lastly, before ending the first-day ZOOM session, the travel agent (from Event division) presented a short briefing regarding the project that the candidates have to work on in groups. The candidates were split into four groups and each group was given a task to plan an event, establishing its framework which will be presented on Saturday, December 11th, 2021. They also need to contact the three BSSC Division Managers to complete their framework. Each manager has their own role. The manager of the Internal Affairs division will provide a KPI form, the manager of the Self-Development division will be the speaker of the events, and the manager of the External Affairs Division will provide publication for the posters. They have 2 days to work on the project and present it on December 11th, 2021.

December 11th is the day where the groups would present their event ideas. Every group got the chance to present their event ideas and give their progress update. After presenting, each group’s idea will then be evaluated by the juries and they will also receive feedback and questions that are necessary to develop their event. The session format on this day is deliberately created to be similar to a specific program in BSSC which is event bidding (a program where BSSC members get to present their ideas for a certain event and to be elected as the Project Manager). The reason why it is created as such is to prepare the candidates for the event bidding program in BSSC. It is also to allow them to be as creative and as critical as possible in developing an event.

December 12th is the last day of Cadre Forming. On this day, every group’s teamwork and out-of-the-box thinking will be tested through several games that had been prepared by the event committee. Candidates will be playing games such as the Family100, Lanjut/Tebak Gambar, Codename, Battleship, and Riddles with the game keepers of each game. Lastly, after the games, the winner of the games along with several other nominations such as the Best Event Ideas, Quickest Progress, Overall Excellence, and Individual Participation as the bonus is announced in the appreciation session by the Tour Guides of the day. After the appreciation session, the Tour Guides also announced the winner group which had the most total points during the event. Then, BSSC Cadre Forming 2021 is officially over and is closed with a documentation session and a closing prayer by the Tour Guides.
