Art Community
Art Community is a community organized by BSSC Art Division that specializes in music and drawing. This community consists of BINUS Square boarders that wanted to hone their skill and passion that also wanted to broaden their networking.
Drawing Community is part of Art Community which was engaged in the art of drawing. From this community, boarders could learn basic lessons such as shading, texture, perspective, colour theory, and semiotics to hone their skills on drawing. Drawing Community was divided into four sessions which were held every Friday night. The class took place from 7 May 2021 until 11 June 2021 that started from 7 PM to 8.30 PM and used ZOOM Meeting for the platform. This community was taught by Christine Gabrielle and Bunga Mahardika Saraswati. Both of them are really talented and have much experience in drawing. They are great at teaching and successfully make every participant become more enthusiastic by asking some questions and showing their drawing creations at the end of the class.
The total number of participants in this community are ten people and all of them are boarders. The goal of the Drawing Community is to create their own drawing that would be reviewed at the last meeting. It was such a good activity because they got some feedback and suggestions from the trainer to improve their drawings. To make this community more memorizable for all participants, the committee held an activity named Hang Out Together on the last day of the class. The committees and participants were playing games that were related to drawing. Drawing Community ended with gratitude from both trainers and participants.
Aside of Drawing Community, there were also Music Community which was focused on music and singing. From this community, boarders could learn about the process of making music video covers that will be posted to social media. This community consists of two classes, weekday class and weekend class. Each of them has five sessions. In every session, participants were guided by the teacher in the process of making music covers. They also sang and played the musical instruments live. The teachers of the classes are Kevin Lordianto for weekday class and Daniel Santoso for weekend class. Both of them have a broad knowledge and talent in music. They used to be the head of the Music Community too.
The total number of participants in this community are nine people and all of them are boarders. The session took place from 7 May 2021 until 4 July 2021. All of the sessions were carried out online by using ZOOM and Google Meet. At the first session, there were introductions, song selection, and role division. Then, at the second session, the song part was divided by the teacher. At the third session, the teachers gave a short briefing about the dress code, background, and layout for the music video cover. Next, at the fourth session, the teacher gave reviews about music video covers. Finally, at the last session of Music Community, the committees and the participants were having Hang Out Together (HOT).
In conclusion, Art Community goals are achieved because the participants can learn more about drawing and music until they produce the masterpieces and also create music video covers. We hope that the relationship between teachers, participants, and committees will remain forever.
