BSSC Korean Language Class

BSSC is an organization that provided activities for boarders in Binus Square. One of the activities that is provided by BSSC is Language Class. Korean Language Class was a class held by the Culture Division to learn about Korean language and culture. The first Korean Language Class started on 20th of October 2016 with more than 45 participants. The aim of this class is to improve boarder’s knowledge, learn about Korean language and culture, and make new friends not only from Indonesia but also from Korea.

This year is 4th Korean Language Class was held. It taught by four foreign boarders from Seoul, Korea. They are Bomi Kim, Hye Won Park, Geon Hee Noh, and Jeong Jang Heon. Korean Language Class has a total of five meetings, four meetings on class and one off class which we usually hear as Hang Out Together (HOT). The classes took place at BS301 and Redwood Room with the duration of 2 hours, starts from 8 PM until 10 PM.

In the first four meetings, we learned a lot of things. Such as Korean alphabets (consonants, vowels), Korean number (how to pronounce), greeting manner (to same age and to older people, basic body greeting), how to introduce yourself, family, hobby, conversation, etc. Not only that, we also watch cut scenes from Korean movies and Korean music videos. In the last meeting, we went to Dookki in Central Park. We choose Dookki because we want to try Korean food and how to cook them.

At the end of our last meeting in Dookki, we felt both happy and sad because the class has ended and we made a lot of unforgettable memories. BSSC hope that the next Korean Language Class will get even better in every aspect.
