A Farewell Party was held by BSSC Culture Division to celebrate the end of several language classes held throughout the semester. The languages that were taught were Korean, Javanese, Hokkien and Indonesian and the students were taught by teachers who were eager to share their knowledge about their local language.

This event was held on 14th June 2019 with a general theme of “Glow in Diversity”. This theme resembles the unique cultures of the world and how we should embrace our differences to create a better community.  The party included a few performances by BINUS Square Boarders and a dinner party where students and teachers can express their feelings and bid goodbye to each other. Furthermore, participants were able to play games and obtain gifts that would be memorable for them in the future. Apart from local boarders who attended the party, international boarders also joined to celebrate the end of an amazing journey. To close the party, the committee handed out certificates and merchandises in recognition of the teacher’s dedication in guiding the students to understand a new language.

Despite the challenges that has been faced in a number of classes, we believe the farewell party has created a stronger connection between boarders. In addition, we think this party has been memorable for those who joined, and we hope that the relationship that has been built through this activity will continue to grow.
