BSSC Festival ‘Food Fusion’ 2018

BSSC Festival has been held for three days in May 4th, 5th, and 6th this year with a fresh and new theme, “Food Fusion” which represented food festival. This event involves a lot of food stands and also competitions related to food. Besides food stands and food competition, BSSC Festival was also filled by the performance of boarder, binusian, and guest star that is Lawrence Anzela.

Binusian competed in a lot of competitions such as Chubby Bunny Challenge, Samyang Challenge, Guess the food, Makan Taichan Tercepat, Too Fast Too Foodrious, Eat Bullaga Challenge, and Food Photography. The competitions are spread out on different days, which garnered positive response and feedback from the participants and visitors. Furthermore, we opened up 3 new booths, which was free VR trial, Mortal Kombat (PC), and FIFA (PC), which gained huge traction on the last day.

Aside from the fun at Exhibition Area, we also opened up an Escape Room centered around the mystery genre. Our escape room blew up, with more than 200 people visiting it. The changing theme definitely helped. On the first and second day, the theme was “Cursed Memoir”, and on the third, it was “Witch Hunt”. The atmosphere and tension inside our escape room was spot on, based on the feedback from our visitors. We hope that this year’s Festival was memorable, and next year’s to be better than the last.

BSSC Food Fusion Festival is not only about food, but also entertainment. One of the “new and fresh” this year are PC Games and Virtual Reality Booth which were opened for public at the third day of Festival. At the PC Games Booth, participants were provided with 2 laptops and 4 joysticks. Each laptop has one game that could be played by the participants, which were Mortal Kombat and FIFA 18. The booth itself got huge traction on the third day of Festival, this could be seen from the long queue and crowd. What garnered such positive response was that the booths were absolutely FREE! Visitors just need to fill down the registration form and they’re in queue. They don’t need to wait by the booth either, they’re free to enjoy the event and have their name called when it’s their turn.

There was also a Virtual Reality (VR) demo booth available for the public. At the Virtual Reality booth there are 2 mobile phones and 2 Virtual Reality glasses. There are 5 video demos that were provided at this booth, which were The Room, Syirik, Invasion, Avatar Roller Coaster, and Zombie. Every demo videos were about 5 minutes long. What makes this booth interesting is that the participants experience near complete immersion to the simulated reality. For a lot of people, this was their first time and they’re definitely thrilled by it.
