The following five strategies, designed to boost productivity, also drive\u00a0diversity\u00a0when applied across the employee lifecycle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Use referrals to tap into broader networks.<\/strong>\u00a0Referral programs aren\u2019t just about filling roles\u2014they\u2019re powerful\u00a0diversity\u00a0engines. When employees are actively invited to refer candidates, especially in frontline roles, you\u2019ll see broader representation. Add employee resource groups to the mix, and\u00a0diversity\u00a0among managers rises even more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Invest in broad-based skills training.<\/strong>\u00a0Training initiatives like job rotation and career-path planning aren\u2019t just about upskilling\u2014they increase retention and expand advancement opportunities for underrepresented groups. When training is accessible to all, it fuels both engagement and\u00a0diversity\u00a0in management.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Make mentoring a core expectation.<\/strong>\u00a0Formal mentoring, especially when available to everyone, significantly boosts the presence of women and people of color in leadership. Recognize mentorship in performance reviews and integrate tools to support it at scale.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Offer predictable, flexible schedules.<\/strong>\u00a0Schedule stability is a retention tool, not just a perk. When all employees can rely on consistent hours, it helps working parents and underrepresented groups stay and grow in their roles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prioritize performance in tough times.<\/strong>\u00a0Layoffs based on function or tenure erode\u00a0diversity.
