Dear BINUS Alumni,

The Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Promoting Rural Income through Support for Markets in Agriculture (AIP-PRISMA) is an ambitious new rural development program which aims to achieve a 30% increase in the net incomes of 300,000 male and female farmers in eastern Indonesia by 2017. Focusing the work in five provinces (East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Papua and West Papua), AIP-PRISMA is currently looking for candidates to fill the position of Business Enabling Environment (BEE) Coordinator.

As a BEE Coordinator, you will manage selected strategies which target the improvement of the legal, policy, and planning environment relevant for the program’s sectors. For this, you will collaborate with the sector teams to analyze value chains, their performance and constraints; and their political economy. Together with your Intervention Coordinators, you will develop a set of strategies to introduce cleverer policies and public services; negotiate and conclude deals with local government; and collaborate with private companies to strengthen their role in policy development. You will oversee the implementation of these strategies and monitor the progress; and adjust your strategies until you succeed in creating a more conducive environment
for both enterprises and farmers.

To perform this role, you should have several of the following qualifications:

  • at least post-graduate level qualifications in economics, business administration, public law, public administration, political science or similar;
  • a good understanding of area competitiveness, economics, and the drivers of change;
  • a good understanding of the political economy in eastern Indonesia;
  • a good understanding of the role public services play towards economic performance;
  • experience working with local government and private companies;
  • willingness to learn from mistakes and ability to think ‘out-of-the-box’; and
  • fluency in English, Bahasa Indonesia, and preferably local language.

Proven work experience in public policy, business consulting, or agribusiness is of advantage. Direct experience in development is not required.

If you find yourself a match and willing to join this opportunity, you can apply on the spot on the Recruitment Day.
