Seasonal Tastes

On the 9th and 10th of June this year, BSSC’s Public Relation Division held their annual event. Seasonal Tastes was a café themed with 4 seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter. The meaning behind this theme is that every food represents its own season, to be exact; appetizer is spring, summer is the drink, autumn is the main dish and winter is dessert. The purpose of this event is to serve foods according to each corresponding season and to provide with an alternate food choice around BINUS Square. To give the café the four seasons feel, we decorated the inside of the room with origami shaped leaves, real miniature branches that resembles trees and also putting up quotes on the walls according to each season. We also setup a photo booth that’s made from recycled wooden boxes, so that customers could take pictures.

The café opened at 18.00 on both days and closed at 22.00. Inside the café, customers were served with an appetizer, a main course, a dessert and also a drink. The appetizer was either a mash potato or a bowl of cream soup, the main course was a golden fried chicken with choice of sauce served with rice, the dessert was handmade cookies and cream flavored Ice cream and the drink was a free refill tea.

The waiters and waitress helped the customers by greeting them at first, and then one of them would escort the customer to their tables. After seating them, they would take their order and serve them their food. They also help the customers get the board games that the café provided and refill their drinks.

Not only food, the customers was also provided with live music, giving off the café vibes inside. There were a lot of performance, and the customers all enjoyed it. Overall, the café did not only served food, but also served a different experience in casual dining and an unforgettable moment. We hope this event will help boarders to broaden their experiences in fine dining and also provide unique entertainment in BINUS Square.
